Ohio River Fishing

The Ohio River, which runs through West Virginia, is a popular fishing destination. Most of the upper river (300 miles) is situated in West Virginia. The river is a long stretch of water where you’ll find some great smallmouth bass fishing. Other species targeted here include crappie, walleye, catfish, and numerous other game fish. There are several hot spots to visit, such as Cluster Islands (below New Cumberland Dam), the openings of Fishing Creek and Muskingum River, the Old Lock/Dam 21, and the tailrace area below Byrd Dam. Great fishing awaits you along the Ohio River!
