In the north-central part of Nebraska, you’ll find a 1,600-acre fishing lake called Merrit Reservoir. Known as one of the better fishing lakes in the state, this lake offers excellent shore fishing due to its easy-to-access banks. The ample amounts of vegetation and submerged trees provide excellent hiding spots for the fish. Merrit Reservoir has a plentiful supply of large walleye, but most of the locals who come here target the muskie. You can find other fish here as well, including bass, catfish, crappie, trout, sunfish, and pike.
