Wehrspann Lake is a 250-acre lake outside of Omaha that offers excellent fishing. Located on the eastern border of Nebraska, this lake can get up to 24 feet deep in some spots. The Omaha Metro Trails System surrounds the lake and offers easy access to the shoreline. People often fish from the shores looking to catch largemouth bass, catfish, walleye, sunfish, and crappie. You can launch your boat or fish from the dock at the Chalco Hills Recreation Area. You’ll need to keep your boat under the 5-mph speed limit or opt for a canoe or kayak instead.
