Calcasieu Lake Fishing

Located almost entirely within the bounds of Cameron Parish in southwest Louisiana, Calcasieu Lake’s brackish estuary water is home to brown and white shrimp, flounder, red drum a.k.a. redfish, and spotted sea trout a.k.a speckled trout. Gulf Coast anglers refer to Calcasieu as “Big Lake” and consider it a prime destination for speckled trout, as specimens that are seven pounds (3.2 kg) or larger are frequently caught here.
