Sutton Lake Fishing

An often-visited, 14-mile fishing spot known as Sutton Lake sits among West Virginia’s Mountain Lakes region. The pristine, clear fresh water covers 1,440 acres and is lined by 44 miles of shore. Anglers come here to pursue bass, crappie, catfish, and sunfish. You can find muskie and walleye in the Elk River just below the dam. Downstream, you’ll find trout, which are stocked in the spring/fall. There are more than sixty annual bass tournaments hosted here at Sutton Lake. Fishing opportunities are plentiful for those who come here to fish.
