R.D. Bailey Lake offers outstanding fishing opportunities. Anglers and their families come to the lake to fish and camp. Some of the numerous fish species in the lake include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, striped bass, walleye, channel catfish, tiger muskie, and panfish. West Virginia’s Department of Natural Resources stocks the lake with trout. A few fishing hot spots to look for are Guyandotte Point Recreation Area, Big Branch Area (day use,) and Below Dam Fisherman’s Access.
