Current River Fishing

If you’re looking for a beautiful fishing stream that offers a large diversity of fish, check out Current River. In the river’s first twenty miles, you’ll find a classic trout environment. However, after that point, the river morphs into one of the nation’s finest smallmouth bass streams. The distinction between the two areas begins about nine miles below Montauk State Park, near Cedar Grove. Other fish you can find here include rock bass, walleye, suckers, and bluegill. Current River is stocked daily with rainbow trout from March 1 through October 31. The waters here are crystal clear, making the fish easy to spot. Take a trip to Current River to enjoy an amazing day of canoeing and/or fishing.
