Sylvan Lake is a 17-acre fishing spot known for its excellent population of trout. Located in Custer County, this lake can get up to 30 feet deep in some spots. This lake is not only a great fishing location, but also a popular tourist spot thanks to its natural beauty. Here you can catch many different species of fish, but its brown and rainbow trout are especially popular. The trout here respond best to lures, such as spinners and spoons, and live bait, such as grasshoppers, salmon eggs, and night crawlers. You can either fish from shore, or bring your own boat, canoe, or kayak. Just note that motorized boats are not allowed. There are boat rentals available, and if you want to bring the family or spend several days here, you can spend the night in the nearby campground.
