Knott Creek Reservoir Fishing

Knott Creek Reservoir is known for its ample fish and excellent catch rates. This 216-acre reservoir can get up to 24 feet deep in some spots. The most coveted fish here include rainbow trout, bowcutt trout (a cutthroat/rainbow hybrid), and tiger trout (a brown/brook hybrid). Anglers who fish here are rumored to catch up to 20 fish in one day. For the most productive fly fishing, plan your visit in June or October and try using emergers and leeches. During the rest of the season, damselflies and dark wooly buggers work well, as do dark-colored spinners. You can stay overnight in one of the campgrounds, just note that the camping here is primitive.
