Lake Frederick Fishing

Anglers fishing Lake Frederick can expect to be met with catches of largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, black crappie, channel catfish, and northern pike. The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources ensures the lake is stocked yearly with channel catfish and northern pike. You can fish from the shore near the dam and at the lake’s lower end. Anglers who wish to fish from a boat must use electric trolling motors because gas-powered motors aren’t allowed.
