Silver Lake is a noted warm water fishery, with a variety of species for fishing. These include rock bass, largemouth bass, yellow perch, pumpkinseed sunfish, and northern pike. These fish can be tempted by bottom bouncing lures, which imitate crayfish, as well as baitfish imitators like crank bait, stickbaits, and spinners. You can also fish your lures along the edges of aquatic cover, like rocks, docks, and water vegetation. The lake itself is within the bounds of Silver Lake State Park, and access to shore fishing abounds.
