Shaftsbury Lake, at the center of the 84-acres Lake Shaftsbury State Park, offers good fishing for such species as rock bass, yellow perch, bluegill, pumpkinseed sunfish, and largemouth bass. The lake is also stocked annually in spring with rainbow trout. Spring fishing here is particularly good from a canoe or kayak, but you can also cast a line from the dam close to the entrance as well as along the shore. Dam and shore access is by way of teh Healing Springs Nature Trail.
