Echo Lake has plenty of fish species and plenty of diverse aquatic habitat for them to reside in. The deepest park of the lake is past the open swim area and is key habitat for cold water dwellers like trout. Shallower waters, such as those in the Buffalo Brook delta and the cove on the park’s north end by its fishing dock, are prime areas for warm water species like pickerel, sunfish, and bass. Echo Lake also has other gamefish species like chain pickerel, bullhead, yellow perch, pumpkinseed sunfish, and largemouth and smallmouth bass.
