If you’re looking for a fishing destination where you can catch a wide variety of fish, give Reelfoot Lake a try. This lake is home to approximately fifty-four species of fish, including bream, crappie, largemouth bass, and catfish. Different fish are active at various times of the year, but the best fishing takes place from March through mid-July and from September to October. Fishermen who stop by during the peak months are often rewarded with their limit of fish. Jon boats are very popular here, but you’ll also find plenty of canoes and kayaks. Since the lake is actually a flooded forest, there are many cypress stumps lurking under the water. This can make navigating the waters a bit tricky. For this reason, the use of fiberglass boats is not recommended.
