Lake Wateree Fishing

Head to Lake Wateree for some of South Carolina’s best bass fishing. This 14,000-acre lake has 242 miles of shoreline and 17 fish attractors that are maintained by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. Most people who fish here are hoping to catch black crappie, striped bass, perch, sunfish, pickerel, largemouth bass, and catfish. The fish is stocked regularly with striped bass to ensure a thriving population. You can access the lake from one of the many access points, then use one of the eight boat launch ramps to get out on the water. You can also fish from the shore or enjoy the Lake Wateree State Recreation Area.
