Lake Marion Fishing

As the largest lake in South Carolina, Lake Marion is sure to produce a great day of fishing. This 110,000-acre lake is part of the Santee Cooper Reservoir system and includes 300 miles of shoreline. Here you can catch monster catfish, big bass and thriving shellcrackers. The lake is also home to crappie, perch, stripers, white bass, sunfish, and chain pickerel. If you plan to fish from the bank, the best areas to try are Taw Caw Creek Park Pier, Taw Caw Creek Park Bank, C. Alex Harvin Landing Pier, and Rimini Landing Pier. The lake has several areas where you can launch a canoe or kayak. There are more than a dozen fish attractors here, along with plenty of places for fish to hide, such as submerged stumps, trees, and vegetation. Lake Marion offers several amenities, including stores, marinas, and camping facilities.
