Lake Jocassee Fishing

Lake Jocassee offers anglers the chance to catch both warm- and cold-water fish species. This 7,500-acre reservoir is filled with trout, hybrid stripers, bass, crappie, sunfish, catfish, pickerel, sunfish, and white bass. Located in the northwest part of the state near the North Carolina border, this lake offers beautiful scenery in addition to excellent fishing. Since most of the 75 miles of shoreline are rocky, its best to fish this lake by boat. You can launch your boat using one of the three public boat ramps. You can also rent a boat at the Jocassee Outdoor Center, which serves both Lake Jocassee and Lake Keowee. Bring the whole family and spend the night at one of the nearby campgrounds or RV spaces.
