Lake Greenwood Fishing

If you’re looking for a great fishing spot for the whole family, try Lake Greenwood. This 11,000-acre lake offers anglers of different levels the chance to enjoy a great fishing experience. You can catch many different fish here, including crappie, bass, break, perch, catfish, and stripers. The bass are most active during the fall when you can find them in the shallower waters. Lake Greenwood offers great fishing from the shore or a boat. If you head out by boat, some of the best spots to try are Buzzard Roost Dam, Upper Railroad Trestle, Rabon Creek Bridge, Mid-lake Brush Pile, Catfish Hold and Striper Ridge. Lake Greenwood also offers excellent pier fishing at Lake Greenwood State Park Bank, River Fork Fishing Pier and Greenwood State Park Pier. The fish here respond best to lures such as jigs, surface plugs, jigging spoons, slab tail jigs and jelly lures.
