If you’re looking for trophy-sized fish, such as crappie and northern pike, try your luck in the Youghiogheny River Lake. You can also catch smallmouth and largemouth bass here, as well as walleye. The fishing in this lake is so good that local fishing clubs hold open tournaments here. Other fish that call this lake home include yellow perch, carp, bluegill, pumpkinseed, rock bass, brown bullhead, channel catfish, chain pickerel, hybrid striped bass, and alewife. The primary purpose of this lake is flood control, which leads the water levels to vary drastically. When the water levels are high, you can use the public boat launches and marina to get your boat out on the water.
