If you enjoy trout fishing, Tulpehocken Creek is a great spot to visit. This creek, which is the tail water for the Blue Marsh Lake, is the perfect temperature for a thriving trout population. The best place to catch these trout is about four miles below Blue Marsh Lake dam. Here you’ll find rainbow and brown trout that measure 12-14 inches. You can also try the area that runs downstream from the dam to the Tulpehocken Road bridge. Head over in the spring for the best chance of catching something with a traditional rod and reel. Those who prefer fly fishing can also try fishing in the early fall.
