Lake Carl Etling Fishing

Within Black Mesa State Park lies a popular fishing destination known as Lake Carl Etling. This 159-acre lake has 5 miles of shoreline from which you can fish for largemouth bass, flathead catfish, walleye, rainbow, and smallmouth bass. Lake Carl Etling is an especially great spot to enjoy amazing trout fishing in the winter. On the east and south sides of the lake, you’ll find boat ramps to help you get out on the water. There are also camping facilities and picnic areas nearby for the whole family to enjoy. The trout here respond best to Wooly Buggars in black, olive, brown, and white in sizes from 8-12.
