Grand Lake St. Marys is the biggest inland lake located entirely in Ohio. It also happens to be one of the top fishing destinations in the state. Bring your gear and be prepared to catch bluegill, bullheads, largemouth bass, black and white crappies, channel catfish, yellow perch, Northern pike, and striped bass. Well-known by the locals for its excellent crappie fishing, this 13,500-acre lake offers 52 miles of shoreline to explore, along with several picnic areas. If you want to explore the lake by boat, you can launch it from the marina, or one of seven boat ramps located around the lake. You can also rent a boat if you don’t have your own. If you go ice fishing in the winter, you’ll have the opportunity to catch crappie, bluegill, and yellow perch. With a reasonably shallow depth and plenty of brush, Grand Lake St. Marys offers the perfect recipe for great fishing.
