Lake Tschida Fishing

If you’re looking for great fishing in Grant County, head over to Heart Butte Reservoir, also known as Lake Tschida. This 3,235-acre lake gets up to 58 feet deep in some spots and is very popular among the locals. You can catch all sorts of fish here, including Northern pike, smallmouth bass, tiger muskie, walleye, white crappie, and yellow perch. You can fish by shore or by boat. Use one of the 10 boat ramps to get out on the water. Most people who fish here opt for crankbaits, jigs, and spinners. If you head out in the spring or fall, stick to the shallow sections in the west end. In the hotter months, head to the deeper water on the east side of the lake.
