Located in the north-central part of the state, Lake James offers 6,800-acres of water in which to fish. Known as a cold-water lake, it gets up to 120 feet deep in some spots. Most people come here to catch the bass, walleye, and crappie. You can also find pike, muskie, catfish and stripers in Lake James. Head over in the spring and you can find big white bass schooling near the shorelines. In the summer, you’ll want to fish near the channels and ledges as the bass move to deeper water. The high-quality water here makes for some tasty fish. There are several boat ramps, marinas, and camping facilities around to help you enjoy your time at Lake James.
