Salmon River Fishing

As the name suggests, Salmon River is an excellent location to plan a fishing trip – especially if you’re after salmon. Located in the Tug Hill area of New York, this river is notorious for it’s amazing Chinook salmon runs that take place in the fall. You can also catch steelhead, brown trout, smallmouth and largemouth bass and Atlantic salmon in these waters. The Chinook salmon average 15 to 25 pounds, whereas the steelhead get to be about 5 to 15 pounds. And the average trout here weighs in at roughly 10 to 15 pounds.
