Lake Erie Fishing

Lake Erie is an amazing fishing destination that has been dubbed “The Walleye Capital of the World.” While the walleye fishing here is excellent, the lake is also full of yellow perch, trout, bass, and salmon. The most common fish caught here are steelhead, though the lake trout and bass are plentiful as well. If you want to catch a large rainbow trout, head to “Steelhead Alley,” located in the portion from the mouth of the Vermillion River to Cattaraugus Creek. Most people who come here prefer to fish by boat, but you can also fish from the shore. There’s also great ice fishing here in the winter, during which you can catch yellow perch, walleye, and crappie.
