New Mexico is one of the few states that offers year-round fishing. It is home to a diversity of warm-water game fish including bass, walleye, catfish, panfish and pike. Cold-water game fish including the Rio Grande Cutthroat and Gila trout are top attractions for anglers. Rainbow trout and brown trout are plentiful in Cochiti Lake. Fish popular fishing spots including San Juan River, Red River and Elephant Butte Reservoir.
