Rahway River Fishing

You can find many great fishing spots in New Jersey, and Rahway River is no exception. In the spring, the river is stocked with brown, brook and rainbow trout that respond well to in-line spinners and gold or silver spoons. On the South and East branches of the river, you’ll find largemouth bass that are most active from the spring through fall. The bass respond best to crankbaits, jigs, plastic worms, spinnerbaits, and topwater lures. In the spring and summer, head to the South branch of the river where you can target carp with corn or dough balls. You’ll find plenty of public access sites along the river. Some common areas to access the river for fishing include Nomahegan Park, Rahway River Park, and Springfield Park.
