Merrill Creek Reservoir Fishing

Merrill Creek Reservoir is a popular fishing destination known for its trophy-sized brown trout and large lake trout. This 650-acre lake can get up to 235 feet deep in some spots. In fact, it has the distinction of being the deepest man-made lake in New Jersey. This, of course, means there is plenty of room in the lake for fish, including walleye, yellow perch, small and largemouth bass, chain pickerel, crappie, catfish, sunfish, carp, rainbow trout, brook trout and lake trout. Many fishermen come here to fish along the seven miles of shoreline. Merrill Creek Reservoir is located in northwest New Jersey, at Harmony. You can easily access the lake off of I-78. At Merrill Creek Reservoir, you’ll find several public-access boat ramps and many other locations where you can launch canoes and kayaks.
