Pemigewasset River Fishing

If you’re looking for an excellent, well-stocked river to fish, check out Pemigewasset River. Also known as the Pemi, this river is stocked annually by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department with trout, bass, and Atlantic salmon. The best time to fish is from the late Spring through Fall. If you want to catch one of the native trout species, head north of Lincoln and fish the upper part of the river. You’ll find plenty of smaller, native brook trout in the east branch that runs through Lincoln. The larger fish tend to stick to the area between Lincoln and Plymouth. The Pemi only has one public boat launch, but you can access the waters using one of several unofficial boat launches or bridge crossings. If you enjoy camping, there are several campgrounds and cabins along the river that have their own private boat launches.
