Steiger Lake Fishing

Fishermen looking for a large variety of fish will want to consider a trip to Steiger Lake. At 166 acres and approximately 37 feet deep at its deepest point, this lake offers anglers the chance to catch bluegill, black bullhead, brown bullhead, largemouth bass, green sunfish, northern pike, muskie, walleye, yellow perch, pumpkinseed sunfish and yellow bullhead. Steiger Lake has a catch-and-release policy for walleye, bass, or pike. Thanks to this policy, you can find 16-inch largemouths and 29-inch walleye in Steiger Lake. There is no such policy here for bluegill and black crappie, which can be taken home to eat. Shore fisherman will enjoy the fact that it only takes about half a day to fish the entire shoreline. For the best chances of landing a fish, try using jigs, crankbaits, or sucker minnows along the weedline. And if that doesn’t work, try fishing in the deeper spots.
