Lake of the Isles Fishing

If you’re looking for a great place to fish in Hennepin County, give Lake of the Isles a try. At its deepest point, the water in this 112-acre lake gets up to 31 feet deep. Lake of the Isles offers anglers the opportunity to catch many different types of fish, including sunfish, catfish, bass, perch, pike, walleye, and muskellunge. If you head over in May, you’ll have a good shot at catching some bluegill and other sunfish. Once you get to the lake, you’ll have your choice of fishing from a boat, the shore, or from the pier located between Oliver and Newton avenues. For the best shore fishing, try the lagoon area located where the Lake of the Isles connects with Bde Maka Ska. If you prefer to use a boat, this is a great spot for canoe or kayak fishing. In fact, Lake of the Isles even offers permits that allow you to store your kayak or canoe in one of their boat racks for optimal convenience.
