Lake Nokomis Fishing

In Hennepin County, you’ll find a 201-acre lake known as Lake Nokomis that is considered one of the best crappie fishing lakes in the Twin Cities area. With a maximum depth of 33 feet, it offers a great fish habitat. Walleye and muskellunge make up most of the fish managed here. The walleye average 23 inches and about 4.2 pounds. At Lake Nokomis, you can also catch largemouth and smallmouth bass, panfish, perch, sunfish, catfish, and northern pike. This lake offers both shore and boat fishing. The public boat landings offer easy access to the lake. If you stop by in the spring, try fishing from the north shore. This area tends to attract a lot of fish because of its ample sunlight and warm waters. If you visit in the winter, you’ll have access to some great ice fishing.
