Ipswich River Fishing

The beautiful flowing Ipswich River (situated in southern New England) is where you’ll find some superb Trout fishing opportunities. Largemouth Bass, Brown Trout, and Rainbow Trout are the most common catches in the river. Trout and Bass are kept stocked within the river. Accessing most of the river for shore fishing is challenging; it’s best to fish by canoe or kayak. By doing so, anglers are able to access fertile conditions in remote areas such as Wenham Swamp, where plenty of hiding spots for fish are within the large wetland. The area between Ipswich River Park and Peabody Dam is the best fishing spot. Canoe/kayak launch points can be accessed near the two bridges at the end of this area.
