West Grand Lake in east-central Maine has 14,300 acres of water, great year-round fishing including ice fishing, and a reputation as one of North America’s top destinations for fishing lake trout, smallmouth bass, and landlocked salmon. The lake has almost 50 miles of shoreline rife with cover where its populations of trout, bass, perch, pickerel, salmon, and sunfish dwell. Anglers can sign up for trips with local guides, or take a short hike in for access to the banks. Leen’s Lodge offers boat rentals, and boat launches are located at the south end of the lake.
