Moosehead Lake Fishing

At 75,000 acres, Moosehead lake is Maine’s largest lake and one of the best for fishing, as well as recreational boating and vacationing. Located in the mid-western stretch of the state, its 400 miles of shoreline offers beautiful views and great fishing for trout, perch, salmon, sunfish, and bass. There’s plenty of boat access, with abundant portage spots along the shoreline for small watercraft along with two boat ramps: Greenville Junction at the southern end of the lake, and Public Boat Access on its western shore. Anglers can rent boats in spring, summer, and fall, and in winter they can walk straight out onto the water for ice fishing.
