China Lake Fishing

China Lake is actually two lakes, known as basins, connected by a small waterway. The finger-shaped east basin runs north to south along Highway 202, while the west basin is deeper, broader, and more circular. Together the basins cover 3,900 acres with almost 30 miles of shoreline. China Lake offers some of the best bass fishing in Maine and hosts a number of bass fishing tournaments, and also has productive wintertime ice fishing. There are two boat launches, one in the northeast of the west basin, and another at the northern end of the east basin.
