A tributary of the Saint John River in northeastern Maine, the Allagash River is 65 miles long and has populations of a variety of gamefish, including smallmouth and largemouth bass, northern pike, white perch, brook trout, and brown trout. The Allagash drains into a remote wilderness area north of Mount Katahdin in the Maine North Woods, and offers beautiful scenery in addition to great fishing.
