At 185,000 acres, Toledo Bend Reservoir is the South’s largest manmade body of water and the United State’s fifth-largest lake in surface acres. It also happens to have some of the nation’s best fishing for crappie, bream, white perch, white bass, striper bass, and catfish, along with its most popular species, bass. At 70 miles long, the reservoir has 1,200 miles of shoreline, much of which has ready access to all kinds of amenities such as boat ramps, marinas, bait stores, RV parks, campgrounds, hotels, and restaurants.
