Fishtrap Lake Fishing

Fishtrap Lake is a nice game-fishing destination in the southeast tip of Kentucky. Located about 10 miles southeast of Pikeville, this 1,130-acres lake offers 40 miles of shore, most of which is only accessible by boat. You’ll find shore fishing access near the boat ramps and along the surrounding small roads next to the lake. Anglers can catch hybrid stripers, bass, catfish, crappie, walleye, sunfish, and muskie here at the lake. Although there’s no marina, boat rental, or lodging available, you can still enjoy rustic camping near the dam or off of Grapevine Road. When visiting Fishtrap Lake, make sure you pack all your necessities so you can enjoy a good time here.
