Coffey County Lake Fishing

One of the foremost prime fishing spots in Kansas is the 5,090-acre Coffey County Lake. This lake is exclusively designated for fishing. The “Jimmy Houston Outdoors” and “Bill Saiff’s Rod & Reel” national angling TV shows have been televised from this lake. The predator-to-prey ratio here is considered to be one of the best in the United States, making for excellent year-round fishing. You can often find largemouth bass and crappie amid brush and timber, whereas white bass and wipers hang out in the open water. And you’ll find some of the Midwest’s highest populations of walleye, channel catfish, and smallmouth bass along the rocky shores.
