Kankakee River Fishing

Kankakee River is a sportfishing paradise where anglers can fish a wide range of species. You can try your hand at catching smallmouth bass, walleye, channel catfish, rock bass, and northern pike. Early fall and spring are the best times to catch smallmouth bass. Largemouth bass can be found in the backwaters of the river near the Des Plaines Conservation Area. You can fish from the shore, wade the streams, or use a canoe or boat. Be careful when river wading, otherwise you may find yourself in a deep bottom pocket or sudden drop-off. Kankakee River offers its visitors beautiful scenery and ample fishing opportunities.
