Seaguar Knot

Another company knot, the Seaguar Knot was brought to American anglers by the Seaguar company, makers of fluorocarbon line, in order to tie a fluoro leader to a mono line. This knot is trustworthy and reasonably easy to tie—in fact, its structure is almost the same as the King Sling. But where the King Sling is tied with a doubled line, the Seaguar is tied with two separate lines. Learn how to tie the Seaguar Knot following the 5 simple steps below.

Seaguar knot step 1

Step 1: Make a loop in the line and another loop in the leader. Place the two loops side by side. (Note: line running from the left is the top part of each loop.)

Seaguar knot step 2

Step 2: Insert your index finger or stick into the loops and twist counter clockwise three times.

Seaguar knot step 3

Step 3: Feed the end of the line and leader through the loop.

Seaguar knot step 4

Step 4: Lubricate the knot and pull the two double lines in opposite directions to tighten.

Step 5: Trim the tag ends.
