Loop Knots

Below are the most popular loop knots used by anglers. The all time most popular loop knot is the Perfection Loop. The Perfection Loop is used to tie a loop at the end of a fishing line. It’s compact and highly reliable. The Surgeons End Loop is just as reliable as the Perfection Knot but produces a loop that is slightly off center and a bit bulkier. The Dropper Loop makes a loop in the middle of a fishing line rather than at the end. This knot is useful for attaching hooks and other tackle mid line.

Other popular loop knots include the Kreh Loop and the Non Slip Loop which are almost identical. The Rapala Knot, like the Kreh Loop and Non Slip Loop knot, is used for tying line to lure or line to fly while allowing it to move freely when in water.
